This can be closed, because there is a solution to the problem. The
slowness of the system would be a separate issue.

Bug description:
Begin a copy of 10,000 files through Nautilus, and you'll get a popup
progress window.
If that window becomes hidden, that progress window can not be
unhidden, because it is not visible in the Launcher and in Workspaces.
