Title: nm-applet creates new wlan in wep even if wpa was selected Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Binary package hint: network-manager I'm trying to create a WPA ad-hoc network on my laptop (ubuntu 10.04) so that other device can access it. I click on NetworkManager applet, select "Create New Wireless Network", fill in a new network name (e.g. "test-net"), choose WPA & WPA2 as security then input a passphrare in the password field. The NetworkManager applet starts working and the network is created, but when other devices try to access it, it shows as a WEP network. If it is a driver/hardware problem (e.g. not being possible to create a WPA ad-hoc network), the Network Manager applet should warn the user. I'm thinking this could be the case because of these two lines: Sep 29 16:11:33 fderose NetworkManager: nm_setting_802_1x_get_pkcs11_engine_path: assertion `NM_IS_SETTING_802_1X (setting)' failed Sep 29 16:11:33 fderose NetworkManager: nm_setting_802_1x_get_pkcs11_module_path: assertion `NM_IS_SETTING_802_1X (setting)' failed ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: network-manager 0.8-0ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-24.43-generic 2.6.32.15+drm33.5 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-24-generic i686 Architecture: i386 CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] Nessun file o directory Date: Wed Sep 29 16:24:33 2010 IfupdownConfig: auto lo iface lo inet loopback InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100429) IpRoute: 10.42.43.0/24 dev wlan0 proto kernel scope link src 10.42.43.1 metric 2 10.150.15.0/24 dev eth0 proto kernel scope link src 10.150.15.140 metric 1 169.254.0.0/16 dev eth0 scope link metric 1000 default via 10.150.15.1 dev eth0 proto static Keyfiles: Error: [Errno 2] Nessun file o directory ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=it_IT.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: network-manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/651165/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
