Title:
Please support definition of routes by interface name
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Status in “network-manager-pptp” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Binary package hint: network-manager-pptp
The only routes that can be defined via the NM pptp plugin require the
following bits of information: Address, Netmask, Gateway, and Metric
However it is valid to define a route with only: Address, Netmask,
Interface
Such as:
sudo route add -net 10.1.0.0 netmask 255.255.0.0 dev ppp0
With the current plugin I can find no way to define the above route.
The client IP is dynamic and thus unknown prior to connection. As
such I don't see how the route can be defined using the currently
available options. It seems much more reasonable to define the route
via the device.
