Title:
Icon still spins when Network Manager is waiting for a password and
  not doing anything

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: network-manager

  Ubuntu Karmic, all updates installed

  1. From the Network Manager applet menu, select an encrypted network that you
have not previously used.
  2. Wait for the authentication alert to appear.

What happens: The applet icon continues spinning as if it is still trying to
connect, when it is actually waiting for you to enter the password.
What should happen: The icon should stop moving for as long as the alert is
up.
