Sorry, but as evidenced by the fact that no one responded to your
feature request for two years, Ubuntu community members don't have time
to maintain useless copies of requests for features to be added
upstream.

  this feature is definitely missing in nm-applet!

  
  In Win XP you're simply asked to enter a password and username, if you choose 
network is 802.1x encrypted with a MD5 Challenge.
