Yeah, it definitely seems like a Unity crash. In that case, do you have any .crash files for compiz in /var/crash? If so, can you run the command
apport-bug /var/crash/NAME_OF_CRASH_FILE.crash and file a new bug report for it? If that does work, then we can close this bug since apport will file a new one with all relevant details. To elaborate even more, When i maximize google chrome and try to close the application, the left buttons are not visible. The application dock does not come up. I thought of uploading a screenshot of the problem that i am facing but in the screenshot the application dock is visible but in the actual system, the dock which is currently set to auto-hide does not un-hide itself. I don't see the clock at the top right as its gone way too right. Ubuntu Version : 12.04.
