nm-applet does not respond to choices I make in networking menu
Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
When I left-click nm-applet icon, menu shows but when I click desired
option (e.g. Connect to Hidden Wireless Network, Edit Connections...,
Create New Wireless Network, Connection Information) nothing happens
except menu disappears. I cannot even disconnect from the network to
which I happen to be connected. This keeps happening until I logout
and log in back again. I'm using Unity 2D.
