Title:
Huawei E270 not recognized as modem

Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: network-manager

When I attach my Huawey E270, the system recognize the device only as cdrom
but I can't use it as modem (expected: recognized as broadband device).
The device is correctly listed by lsusb:

  stefano@stefano-laptop:~$ lsusb | grep Huawei
Bus 002 Device 009: ID 12d1:1003 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. E220 HSDPA
Modem / E270 HSDPA/HSUPA Modem

There are also device files /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1 ... but
Network Manager don't see any broadband usb device.

  According to "https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NetworkManager/Hardware/3G";,
E270 is supported by Network manager.
