Same issue same codec, # cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#* | grep Codec Codec: Conexant CX20590 Codec: Intel PantherPoint HDMI
Read somewhere that Conexant 506e/20590 has the same graph as the rest of the 5066 family, so tried all the model options listed for the 5066, one by one (from alsa kernel docs and from alsa-base docs). "laptop" and "dell-laptop" only disable the audio out jack, and "olpc-xo-1_5" and "ideapad" don't seem to make any change (volume is still way too low below 80%, and 100% is not as loud as it should be) Using this as a work around: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Advanced_Linux_Sound_Architecture#Low_Sound_Workaround -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to alsa-driver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1001678 Title: [Vostro V131, Conexant CX20590, Speaker, Internal] volume slider problem Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: even at 100%, volume is toooo low.going above 100% it starts to get audible in 12.04 it was already lower than on 11.10, but not this much ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: alsa-base 1.0.25+dfsg-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.4.0-2.6-generic 3.4.0-rc7 Uname: Linux 3.4.0-2-generic x86_64 AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.25.
