In XFCE, window backgrounds go black

Bug description:
After invocation of some (most?) programs the originally most
correctly displayed window frame areas (like the bar containing the
document tab headers in GEdit) turn black.
As an example a screenshot is attached: Opening gedit with a document
as parameter directly colors the tab display line black (left window)
while a fresh invocation without a parameter (in example: invoking
gedit from the desktop context menu) renders the bar line as expected
(grey).
Behaviour is observed for many programs.
