Title:
Dash fails to find installed applications - extra spaces are sometimes
required in searches, eg for Netbeans
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
I installed netbeans 7.1.2 and 7.2 (the launcher for 7.1.2 is in the
unity launcher).
When I open the dash and type 'net', both applications are displayed
as search matches and have names 'NetBeans IDE xyz', but when I add b
to the search (ie 'netb'), these matches disappear. However, if I type
'net b' (ie with a space), both applications are displayed again as
matches.
I expect the dash to find the applications without the space in the
search term, which I believe is how Ubuntu 12.04's dash worked.
The desktop file for netbeans-7.2 is:
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=NetBeans IDE 7.2
Comment=The Smarter Way to Code
Exec=/bin/sh "/usr/local/netbeans-7.2/bin/netbeans"
Icon=/usr/local/netbeans-7.2/nb/netbeans.png
Categories=Application;Development;Java;IDE
StartupWMClass=NetBeans IDE 7.2
Version=1.0
Type=Application
Terminal=0
Version info:
ubuntu 12.10
libunity-core-6.0-5 6.2.0-0ubuntu3
libnux-3.0-0 3.2.0-0ubuntu3
