Title:
Huge compatibility issues with ATI Mobility Radeon 3450 HD and the
OpenSource ATI Driver
Status in “xserver-xorg-video-ati” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: xorg
(First, sorry for my bad English, I'm French...)
Tested in Ubuntu 10.04 to 11.04 (x86) and still the same problem.
The problem occurs with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3450 and when I
start Ubuntu with a LiveCD and with the "nomodeset" option added to
the kernel (I add "nomodeset" because otherwise Ubuntu will not start
at all, but that's another bug...).
After pressing enter, the Ubuntu splash screen appears.
And when the startup is complete, I hear the Ubuntu startup sound. But there
is no output to the monitor.
However, I can access TTY by pressing Ctrl + Alt + F1.
I just expect that xorg start and that something at least appears on
the screen.
