Funtoo Linux 3.6.0 here.

I found the
     load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0
setting somewhere in the ArchLinux wiki:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio#Glitches.2C_skips_or_crackling

So i added tsched=0, did not help, made it even worse.

Then I additionally changed
     default-fragments = 8
     default-fragment-size-msec = 5

and recompiled my kernel to 300 Hz (was 1000Hz before)

after playing arround with alsamixer as root,
_removing_ tsched=0 again,
setting default-sample-rate = 44100 (was 48000)
and killing pulseaudio, the sound was perfect again. Not really sure why.

Motherboard: GA-MA790FXT-UD5P, Audio: AMD nee ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel
HDA)

Title:
crippled sound after installing kernel 3.6

Status in “pulseaudio” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I tested kernel 3.6.0-030600rc6-generic on my Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit and
since then sound is crippled (sample attached). Even the login sound
is crippled (so this is not limited to the sample done with Skype).

In kernel 3.4 everything still fine.
