Dave,

I wish I was better at linux. When I do the alsoinfo instructions below,
it hangs.  No Alsainfo files are in tmp.

Bug description:
  Sound works under Win7, so hardware is good.  When I run ubuntu-bug,
  is says that pulseaudio has crashed.  This is ubuntu 64-bit, v12.04,
  clean install, not an upgrade.
