Ma, your attitude is getting pretty annoying. To get an idea of why we won't update from TexLive 2009 to 2012, install ubuntu-dev-tools and run reverse-depends -b src:texlive-base
Or you can go to https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/texlive- base/2011.20120424-1 and look in the Available Diffs section at the diff from 2009 to 2011 and see the almost 50MB diff. And that's just one piece of what Tex Live is. That PPA is maintained as I get around to it but I personally don't use it as I don't need it. It's basically a backport of texlive from Quantal to Precise and should work for most people. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to texlive-base in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005710 Title: Please update Texlive Status in “texlive-base” package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: There are thins that are included in the latest Texlive Package and I need them, e.g. Indian Rupee Symbol.
