Vielen Dank, Michael! I will check the list, but in the meantime, please understand that I used SimpleScan with this same scanner just fine with Ubuntu 11.04. It was not until I "upgraded" to 11.04 that I encountered this problem.
I did find drivers on the Avisys (?) and Epson sites... e.g. here: http://www.epson.com/cgi- bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=41625&infoType=Downloads But... I so far cannot unpack them from gz form to .deb. Alien encounters multiple errors. Thanks for anything you can do to help!
