Vielen Dank, Michael!

I will check the list, but in the meantime, please understand that I
used SimpleScan with this same scanner just fine with Ubuntu 11.04. It
was not until I "upgraded" to 11.04 that I encountered this problem.

I did find drivers on the Avisys (?) and Epson sites... e.g. here:

http://www.epson.com/cgi-
bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=41625&infoType=Downloads

But... I so far cannot unpack them from gz form to .deb. Alien
encounters multiple errors.

Thanks for anything you can do to help!

Dan
