I don't know if the responsibility here has changed since the introduction of Unity, but I am still experiencing this bug using Ubuntu 12.10 on my Macbook Pro. The keyboard backlight and the Apple logo light also stay on, until my screen saver starts.

But the backlight stays on, which is both consuming battery and CCFL lifetime. Is there a way to turn off the backlight, too?
