Title:
inkscape crashes, often locking up the entire desktop

Status in Inkscape: A Vector Drawing Tool:
  Invalid
Status in “inkscape” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: inkscape

When using Inkscape, it crashes, often locking up the entire desktop.
I have not figured out a particular action that causes the crash, or
even how long Inkscape must be used before it crashes. Often the
crash is so severe that I must ssh to my computer from another machine
  and run "killall inkscape".
