Title:
nautilus removes the eject icon too early
Status in Nautilus:
Fix Released
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
Fix Released
Bug description:
Binary package hint: nautilus
THIS CAUSES DATA LOSS!!!!
The eject icon in the left sidebar is removed too early.
See this scenario:
- transfer a very big file(s) to your external drive
- immediately hit umount after the transfer is finished
The eject icon is removed immediately, so you think that the drive is ejected.
After a few seconds (usually 2-3 s, but not enough if you have your hand
ready to unplug the USB drive) a window pops up and tells that some data still
needs to be transferred.
In my opinion the eject icon should eventually grey out, and be
removed only when it is safe to remove the disk.
