Title:
Touchpad can't be deactivated after a while
Status in “xserver-xorg-input-synaptics” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I'm running Kubuntu 12.04.1. When I first start a session, I can (and
do) deactivate the touchpad with Fn-F6 on my Lenovo laptop. But later
on, something -- I don't know what -- reactivates the touchpad and I
can't shut it off using normal means. At the same time the Systems
Settings section for the touchpad changes and no longer offers the
option of shutting off the touchpad if the mouse is active.
Fortunately I seem to be able (so far) to deactivate the touchpad with
this:
xinput set-prop 13 "Device Enabled" 0
but that shouldn't be necessary.
I have version 1.6.2-1ubuntu1~precise2 of server-xorg-input-synaptics.
But I'm not sure that's the program responsible for the problem.
