  speaker

Status in “alsa-driver” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:

I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 sometime back on my HP Pavillion dv2000 laptop.
This was originally having Windows VISTA which got formatted as part of
Ubuntu installation.

All of a sudden, I am not able hear any sound from the built-in speakers. I
referred the below thread,

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting#Sound_Output_Troubleshooting,

to resolve this issue but I am not able to hear the sound by running
  the below command

  sudo aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav

  Here are my system details.,
  sudo lsb_release -rd
           Description: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
           Release: 12.04

  sudo aplay -l

I am not sure whether this is the correct forum to report this kind of
issue but it would be greatly appreciated if someone can help me on
  this.

  Thanks,
  Sree
