AR242x / AR542x Wireless Network Adapter (PCI-Express) (rev 01) I am using Ubuntu 12.10 on an hp dv6700 laptop. There is absolutely no sound. I only have a "dummy output" listed in the sound menu. This is after a complete disassemble of the laptop in which I replaced the hard drive. I then did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.10 on the laptop. The only reason that I think that the problem isn't with the way I put the laptop back together is that I CAN hear sound when I enter the BIOS and press keys to make a BEEP sound.
