When the local computer is put on standby, the remote computer still sees it online. It's not really online, it'sobviously an artifact and when the remote computer tries to contact the local computer (still sleeping), it then receives an error message.
The status is not changed from online to offline when using standby, resulting in potential confusion and loss of messages by the remote computers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1084816 Title: Empathy doesn't change status upon standby or screen-lock Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts: New Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I don't know if it's an empathy bug or if it's specific to this distribution. Putting the computer on standby (by closing the lid) or waiting for it to lock the screen does not change empathy online status. For standby, the status is said online at the other end even though there is no connection (error message upon sending a message). I'm using Bonjour to do the tests. afaik empathy auto-away is linked to gnome-screensaver, which I don't believe is installed in elementaryOS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1084816/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
