Title: chromium-browser.desktop uses absolute path Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: in /usr/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop we have Exec=/usr/bin/chromium-browser %U this does not seem to be standard, gnome and kde applications do not put absolute paths there: /usr/share/applications/kde4/konsole.desktop Exec=konsole /usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop Exec=gnome-terminal The chromium way is inferior imho, because it does not allow to put a "chromium-browser" in my private bin directory ($HOME/bin/) to override the default launcher. This is useful e.g. to add additional command line switches, ...
