Title:
  chromium-browser.desktop uses absolute path

Status in “chromium-browser” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  in /usr/share/applications/chromium-browser.desktop
  we have
  Exec=/usr/bin/chromium-browser %U

  this does not seem to be standard, gnome and kde applications do not put
absolute paths there:
  /usr/share/applications/kde4/konsole.desktop
  Exec=konsole

  /usr/share/applications/gnome-terminal.desktop
  Exec=gnome-terminal

  The chromium way is inferior imho, because it does not allow to put a
  "chromium-browser" in my private bin directory ($HOME/bin/) to
  override the default launcher. This is useful e.g. to add additional
  command line switches, ...
