Title:
Cannot drop files into current folder
Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
In Nautilus list view, if there are no empty rows, it is not possible
to drop files into the current directory. You can only drop on a
folder, or a file.
In keeping with previous versions of Nautilus and Windows and most
other file managers, you should ALWAYS be able to drop files into the
current directory.
To reproduce:
- open Nautilus and make sure list view is enabled
- navigate to a folder with enough folders/files in it to fill the view (or
just resize the window to make the scroll-bar appear)
- open another Nautilus window and drag a file or files over the list of
files in the other Nautilus window
-> it is not possible to drop the files in the current directory; you can
only drop it into a folder or a file (in the latter case, Nautilus will ask
you if you want to create a directory with the same name as the file)
You should be able to drop files onto any available white-space and
have those files copied to the current directory.
