Bug description:
Shortly after login, unity toolbars and window decorations disappear.
This happens in two stages:
- A few seconds or minutes after login, depending on user activity, there is
a glitch where toolbars and window decorations seem to disappear and reappear
very quickly
- A few seconds or minutes later, depending on user activity, the toolbars
and window decorations disappear permanently
It often happen when I first open the mail client or a terminal, but it
sometimes happens before that.
When the bug happens a workaround is to type in a terminal "unity
--reset-icons".
Then toolbars and window decorations come back and remain for the whole
session.
Although this may not be a concern for the bug at hand, since the workaround
actually works, the above command line issues error messages like compiz
(opengl) - Error: FBO is incomplete: GL::FRAMEBUFFER_UNSUPPORTED (0x8cdd) (even
texture compression being disabled in compiz's opengl module).
Hopefully the ubuntu-bug command collected all that is needed to
investigate, but if more information is needed please let me know.
