Title:
ThinkPad T420] setting dpms off with xset causes X or Unity to freeze
Status in X.org xf86-video-intel:
New
Status in “xserver-xorg-video-intel” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: xorg
Doing cert testing on a Thinkpad T420 running Natty.
One test executes the following:
xset dpms force off
to test monitor powersaving. This works on the T420, but once you
move the mouse, the screen comes back on, but Unity appears completely
frozen. There IS still mouse movement, but that is all.
To recover, I had to drop to a shell and manually kill the X process.
