I am unable to reproduce it any more. Base starts both with other LibreOffice apps launched and without them.
The only major thing I've changed in the OS is that I've installed Oracle Java 7 (from original packages) and AFAIK LibreOffice depends somehow on Java (correct me if I am wrong). Obviously I've installed dozens of updates etc. and any of them could affect this problem.
