hardware drivers doesnt complete update cycle

Bug description:
hardware drivers behaves strangely, on many systems, in both ubuntu AND
kubuntu...
when i tell it to activate the given driver, the downloading driver bar pops
up, and remains on 0%, then suddenly its complete, and when going back to
hardware drivers, everything is white and untouchable... and you cant even know
if the procedure worked...
if you restart Hardware Drivers, then everything is as expected, activated...
never seen this happen before, so tis VERY strange.
