Marking 'Incomplete' because this needs confirmed on Ubuntu
Precise/12.04 and later. Also, even if it is confirmed, I doubt the
advanced controls will be added back into the sound prefs.

Title:
  Missing controls in Sound Preferences

Status in “gnome-media” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gnome-media

I have a Sound Blaster Live! sound card. This is the original Live!.
Since I started using Ubuntu in the 7.04 days, I've had the ability to
adjust levels for bass and treble. Starting with 9.10, the controls
are missing from Sound Preferences. However, they are still availble
in alsamixer. I've been accessing them in this way, but would prefer
they be in the GUI controls.

In fact, the Sound Preferences applet is so different from previous
versions, it doesn't appear to have any controls beyond volume and
balance on the output end. In other words all of the volume sliders
have been stripped out except for volume and balance.
