With Ubuntu 11.10, we are intentionally packaging it as GNOME intended,
which means no extra Firefox icon.

You're welcome to add a Firefox launcher by holding down the Alt key and
right-clicking on the top bar. Select Add to Panel and then choose
Application Launcher.

  Firefox used to have a shortcut in the top bar.
  This is not present in gnome-panel 3 in 10.10 Oneiric.
