But this decreases usability and most people mostly use their computer
for the web so it makes it slower to get ready for your task.

Also it was there in previous version of Ubuntu, so for those who
upgrade, they will be confused why its not there anymore, since they're
accustomed to it.

  Firefox used to have a shortcut in the top bar.
  This is not present in gnome-panel 3 in 10.10 Oneiric.
