network disconnected on wake from suspend

Bug description:
Whenever my laptop wakes from suspend, the network remains
disconnected. It regains its connection status only after a reboot.
Further, i found that reboot also does not work on wake from suspend
except if i go for a hard reboot or reboot from the terminal
