Title:
Software Centre crashed while trying to install from Chrome link

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Testing Ubuntu 14.04 and tried to install Alacarte from a link in
Chrome beta. The webpage I tried installing from is
  https://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/applications/precise/alacarte/. I clicked
on the "Available on software centre" link and software centre
launched went grey for a few seconds then crashed. A report a bug
window came up and I clicked on report a bug, but nothing came up. I
had to run ubuntu-bug from the command line.

I expected to have the software centre to install Alacarte.
