Title:
Xorg crash leading to low graphics mode after several suspends

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xorg

After an uptime of 1d 19h and several suspends/resumes (approx 7 or
8), the screen flickered 7 times before an error dialogue was
  displayed stating the following:

"Ubuntu is running in low graphics mode

Your screen, graphics card, and input device settings could not be
detected correctly. You will need to configure these yourself"

I ran apport-bug whilst in low graphics mode. I have observed this bug
since Karmic, and it may be a duplicate of bugs #582057, #583902 or
#599452. I'm posting this as a separate bug report until somebody with
greater technical knowledge can make a decision.
