Thomas Busch, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. I got full resolution and compiz is running fine, but when i start an opengl-application (for example glxgears) the screen-refreshes are somewhat uncoordinated - when i move the application window, the last drawn contents stay on the screen, and when a window behind the opengl-window is updated, the updated area is drawn on top of the opengl-window. When i close glxgears, i get the following output: XIO: fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server ":0.0" after 21184 requests (15003 known processed) with 0 events remaining. Also, when i try to start a pyopengl or pyglet app, i get a segmentation fault, though i don't know if those issues are related (i debugged a pyglet app a bit and found out the segfault is caused in glGetString(GL_VENDOR) ) i was able to reproduce this behaviour on jaunty and intrepid i would really like to investigate further into this, but i don't really know where to start looking.
