Bart Heerman, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. At the bottom it is worse compared to the top. I don't have this problem when using fglrx, but then windows aren't refreshed as they should. A bug gray area covers the content of windows (ie in firefox, chrome, dialogs such as appearance) but this is a different bug report. I only include it to prove it is not a hardware problem. My graphics card is: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series The attachment shows a picture of the screen when the problem occurs. A screenshot obviously is not possible :-) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: xorg 1:7.5+5ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-22.36-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-22-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Jun 18 12:47:41 2010 DkmsStatus: vboxnetflt, 3.2.0, 2.6.32-22-generic, i686: installed vboxdrv, 3.2.0, 2.6.32-22-generic, i686: installed vboxnetadp, 3.2.0, 2.6.32-22-generic, i686: installed InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Release Candidate i386 (20100419.1) MachineType: LENOVO 27327KG PccardctlIdent: Socket 0: no product info available PccardctlStatus: Socket 0: no card ProcCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-22-generic root=UUID=3bd22c94-07e3-459f-a556-22f451cbd77e ro quiet splash ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display dmi.bios.date: 09/02/2009 dmi.bios.vendor: LENOVO dmi.bios.version: 7YET76WW (3.06 ) dmi.board.name: 27327KG dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: Not Available dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Information dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Not Available dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnLENOVO:bvr7YET76WW(3.06):bd09/02/2009:svnLENOVO:pn27327KG:pvrThinkPadR500:rvnLENOVO:rn27327KG:rvrNotAvailable:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrNotAvailable: dmi.product.name: 27327KG dmi.product.version: ThinkPad R500 dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO glxinfo: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory system: distro: Ubuntu codename: lucid architecture: i686 kernel: 2.6.32-22-generic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-ati/+bug/595890/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
