Robert Lee, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-nouveau REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is
already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one
would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
Video corruption after login (GeForce 6150 LE)

Status in “xserver-xorg-video-nouveau” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
After upgrade from 11-10 to 12-04, no longer have video after login
  screen.

Screen is Black with a couple of multi-color horizontal lines at the
  bottom.

  Mouse cursor displays, fine.

Ctrl-Alt-Backspace will momentarily flash a black desktop with icons,
then revert back to a black screen with the noise at the bottom.

Ctrl-Alt-F1 will get me to a terminal window.

From there, I have: sudo apt-get update & sudo apt-get ugrade

Some packages updated, but video is still corrupted.

Tried xrandr, but get: Can't open display
Tried glxinfo, but get: Error: unable to open display

lspci | grep VGA gives: NVIDIA Corporation C51 [GeForce 6150 LE] (rev
  a2)
