Sandeep, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-input-synaptics REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is
already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one
would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

Title:
enable multitouch support on older touchpads, as supported by driver
  v15.0.9.0

Status in “xserver-xorg-input-synaptics” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

  Binary package hint: synaptic

WHQL driver version 15.0.9.0 of synaptics enables multitouch -
including two finger scrolling and , 3 finger press and 3 finger
  flick.

Note that this does not support all touchpads (reg. hardware
versions), but a lot of hardware have gotten abilities that they
inherently had, but had been disabled.

It would be great if this can be incorporated into the Linux synaptics
driver. People can try enabling these extra features and if their
touchpad does support it - it would be amazing !

Macbook features at a quarter of its cost
