Title:
backlight comes back on after screen is blaned and powered off

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
I am using 12.04 LTS (Lubuntu) on a Sony VAIO YB3V1E/S with AMD E-450.

If I tell xscreensaver to "quick power off the display in blank only
mode", then when the screen is blanked, the backlight stays off only
for a minute or two and then the backlight comes back on.

I am usigng the fglrx driver from the Ubuntu repository.

I think this is an X server bug because if I turn dpms off in the
xorg.conf, and then ssh into the blanked machine and use vbetool to
turn off the backlight, then it doesn't come back on by itself.
