I don't know what I've changed from default. This installation is a few
years old now, I've probably poked and prodded at all kinds of things.

This morning however it seems to be doing 4 columns. I don't know if it
remembered a resizing I did in a previous session, or something's
updated and changed, or what it is.

Title:
Nautilus default window size is slightly too small

Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
When you open a nautilus window, it is slightly too narrow to show
four columns, so instead it shows three with a chunk of space wasted.
See the attached screenshot. It probably should remember the size it
was last made, or at least be a little bit wider.
