I think I'm experiencing the same issue as this bug, and possibly the
same thing as https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-
server/+bug/1184451

I was able to reproduce it recently, so I filed a new bug report. It is
here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1294391

  Screen freezes playing video or music in Chrome.

Bug description:
  I am using Xubuntu 13.10 64bit on a Acer c720 with an Intel graphics
  chip. Freeze happens "randomly", but always when some media is playing
  (YouTube, Google Play Music, etc.) in the webbrowser (I use Chrome).
