Title:
The contrast of the screen is very low, waking up from sleep state.

Status in “pm-utils” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
On Ubuntu Karmic, Gnome 2.28.1 :

Using my laptop on mains-operated mode, when I turn it sleep mode, I
expect to obtain the same screen contrast on waking up that there was
  turning it sleep mode.

  Instead :
Waking up from a sleep mode, my screen contrast is very low.
My laptop is a Dell XPS M1530 and the case happens when I'm using it
mains-operated mode.
The lower-than-usual contrast level is actually the one expected when I
switch the laptop on batteries-operated mode.
The case happens only once after I start the system, waking up from the first
sleep mode, the following sleep modes wake up properly without screen contrast
changes between before and after sleeping.
