[Natty Alpha 3] Suspend does not work on Asus U36jc

Bug description:
Binary package hint: pm-utils
Suspend does not work on Asus U36jc.
When selecting suspend from the session-indicator menu, the screen becomes
blank.
However, the screen backlight stays on and after a few seconds the fan goes
up to maximum.
Need a hard reboot to get things functional again.
I am using the latest daily live version of Natty. This is a live
session on an USB stick.
Please feel free to ask for any further information you might need.
