Bug is more than 2 years, old, "confirmed", really annoying, probably affecting much more people than those who took the time to report it, probably easy checking and fixing, still "undecided" and "unassigned". So what ? Should we start torturing kitten until somebody puts a helping hand on it ?

Also it would be helpful if the default volume level was not set to MAX on first boot. (my speaker system is loud) and this is disruptive in the public / classroom.
