Title:
Letters (fonts) sometimes gray instead of black

Status in “xorg” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Sometimes, text is rendered light gray-ish instead of black. That
applies to some buttons, menu lables, even to text in different web
browsers. My font rendering is set to "best form", but other settings
gave the same result. Now I set it to "black and white" but I kinda
doubt that works. The fun thing is, that sometimes when the text has
to be redrawn (e.g. because a window moved over it and off again), the
  text is fine, again.

  lsb_release -rd:
  Description: Ubuntu 9.04
  Release: 9.04

The whole thing is running on an iBook G4:
Linux version 2.6.28-6-powerpc (buildd@adare) (gcc version 4.3.3 (Ubuntu
4.3.3-5ubuntu4) ) #20-Ubuntu Fri Apr 17 08:30:40 UTC 2009
