Reinstalled different distros several times to no avail, latest one being the
most recent Linux Mint. Yesterday I booted into it and... Got sound!! First
time since I posted here. Rebooted once and the card card was still alive.
Sadly, when I switched on the next day there was no sound again.
The only change I can think of: after installing Mint I plugged in my AMD 5850
graphics card. The OS now sees two possible sound outputs. Any ideas?

Title:
Soundcard gone mute after working just fine for some time.
  Reinstalling didn't work.

Bug description:
Hello everybody. I posted a message with logs and updated info here:

A couple of days ago I installed Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 in my pc alongside
Windows 7 and Linux Mint 15. I was really happy to see my Roland UA-55
Quad-Capture soundcard recognized and working for the first time in
Ubuntu! Everything was running just fine: Youtube, mp3, videos,... I
even installed Ardour and checked that the inputs of the card were
usable too. Well, today I have realized that Ubuntu has gone mute. The
card is still recognized in the Sound Settings menu but no sound is
coming out of it. I have tried several guides I have found around but
to no avail. And, what is worse and more strange, I have just
reinstalled and it hasn't solved my problem. Could anyone shed some
  light here?

Thanks in advance for your time.
