I am using Oneiric Ocelot. The bug you mention seems to be not related to gnome-screensaver. This bug is in gnome-screensaver.
I have had to peg my version as subsequent updates still contain the bug. I have looked at 3.2.0-0ubuntu1 and I see nothing patched that would fix this bug. (see my patch) Incidentally.. It is trivially easy to demonstrate this bug if you have 10+ minutes available to not use your computer. 1) Set Screen Saver 'Turn Off After' to 1 minute. 2) Set Screen Saver Lock On, Lock Screen After 1 hour. 3) Leave computer for 10 minutes. (Or any duration less than 1 hour but greater than 60 + 480 seconds. ) 4) Return to computer. 5) Note screen is locked. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/859396 Title: gnome-screensaver locks after approx 10 minutes even if user settings are specify longer Status in “gnome-screensaver” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: After setting a screen lock timeout of, for example, 1 hour the screen still locks after approx 10 minutes. Looking at the code it appears gnome-screensaver puts an upper bound on the lock timeout of 480 seconds (8 minutes), so user preferences of 1 hour will not function as expected. I see no reason for an upper bound of 8 minutes, and this contradicts the available options anyway.
