This is probably related. I have a full file system in a spare partition on my hard drive. Configured deja-dup to backup to /usr/kim/Backup in the "20 GB Filesystem". I actually found the backup in /usr/kim/Backup on my live filesystem.

When I try to back-up I only get: Permission denied I used my external drive which was formatted as NTFS-Drive. So I thought this could have something to do with ntfs and linux... SO I tried two more configurations (ext4 and fat32) with the same result...BTW in all three setups I'm able to read and write as loged-in user... So I don't know what to to anymore... Thanks!
